Born in Dokkum, the Netherlands, march 9 1974, Iris Kiewiet grew up in the youngest province, the polders dried in the 1960’s. Her parents originate from the island Ameland, with generations going back, of farmers and sailors. This resourceful entrepreneur family tree, formed the base for her artistic career; ‘My hands just know.’

Art studies and the first self employed years, Iris spent both in Rotterdam and Groningen, with additional traveling abroad. In 2004, a 5 months journey through Canada, guided the illustrator towards the art of painting healing guiding spirits. With her fresh family, husband and daughter, she will now live and work in Canada’s mountain and forest environment.
